I've had success with those two with girls even in late 20s. But I usually pair with SOB for nightgame. Pairing either one of them with Taboo is great too, I've had older women respond to that.

It's definitely not platonic. But also on the more social side. I really do love it, I almost feel like you can't OD on it. I sprayed like 20 sprays on myself when I was first testing it just to see what would happen, then went to meet my friend for dinner. Immediately I walk in the door of the restaurant and the two college-age hostess chicks were completely on my wavelength. "On the same wavelength" is the best way I can describe it.
It's like you just see each other and you're connecting with them, and before you even talk you both just know you're riding each other's vibes and they want to get to know you. Self effects made me more fun and animated, too. And it gave me a ton of opportunities for escalation.

But I don't like to lie and was primarily trying to do it by implication using more subtle strategies so they come to their own conclusion that I wasn't a bitch-ass customer. When it works, it works better but implications don't always land with some girls so you have to be more explicit with them).
Once I was more explicit it's like a bell went off in their heads and they got it. It's the vibe of, "I get what this place is and I'm not playing that game because I'm not a sad little man who pays for this."
So keep that in mind. I think BL is excellent for opening the door to escalation because of the vibe it creates with women. But you have to be the one who leads them through it.

I have been doing game since way back in the day, I even used to live in a "project vegas" of sorts back in 2015 with a bunch of guys who were really dedicated to this. So it's kind of a mishmash of what I've picked up from the last 15yrs.
BUT one of the biggest needle-movers for me was JMULV's methods. He goes by John Anthony Lifestyle now on YouTube. You really can't beat his systems, and you can layer in whatever applies to you that helps after that.
Aside from that I'm an ardent student of evolutionary psychology. When you study that you can't get swayed by the social media bullshit going around or marketing trying to tell you what girls want and making you feel inadequate.
Also Mystery is an OG, but I think the Mystery Method overcomplicates things. The stuff from the Mystery Method that still applies is:

If they told you to choose and you had to only pick one. Wich would you choose and why? BL or Taboo?
I know this wasn't addressed to me but I feel it wise to reply since my opinion is of value as I have tried both products.
If you only had to get one Taboo or Barely Legal get Taboo. The reason is for some men (especially myself 50+) BL doesn't have any ommph on its own. Taboo has the whole kitchen sink. I think it was designed for the candlelight dinner plus homerun.
If you can afford both, get both. The synergy of both combined is greater than the individual products on their own.
